AIFMD FAQ

AIFMD Reporting Period Start and End Date

For Funds (AIFs) and Managers (AIFMs)

The Reporting period start date (AIF(M) Question 6)

The Reporting period start date (AIF(M) Question 6) for funds is always the first calendar day of the Reporting period type (AIF(M) Question 8) in the Reporting period year (AIF(M) Question 9). As such it is completely fixed and does not need to be entered on our templates.

The Reporting period end date (AIF(M) Question 7)

The Reporting period end date (AIF(M) Question 7) is usually the last calendar day of the Reporting period type (AIF(M) Question 8) in the Reporting period year (AIF(M) Question 9).

  • For Funds (AIFs): This date is always the last calendar day of the period. It is fixed - even in the event of liquidation - and does not need to be entered into our templates.
  • For Managers (AIFMs): This is usually the last calendar day of the period. In that case it is fixed and does not need to be entered into our templates. However, if the manager was liquidated during the reporting period, the liquidation date must be entered as the Reporting period end date.
